Digital Communications Designer

Nick brings his value for public education and love for learning and design to his position as a digital communications designer for the UT System. Nick spent his childhood in rural upstate New York before moving to Arizona where he attended Northern Arizona University and earned a BFA degree in Visual Communication. He began working for the UT in his current role in 2011. He began serving as a representative to UT’s Knoxville area Exempt Staff Council in 2017.

Nick’s favorite part of his job is collaborating with co-workers and clients on interesting projects. He loves researching new web technologies and finding ways to make UT communications more accessible and user-friendly.

Nick is a public media fan and supporter, and supports several civil society and public health organizations in East Tennessee. In his free time, he enjoys travel, exploring the outdoors with his dog, and reading books on history and economics. He’s been a lifelong lover of the color orange. Nick lives in Knoxville with his wife Eleanor, a professional artist, and their canine companion Zelda.
