Charles Primm

Public Records Coordinator

Charles manages requests for public records for the UT System administration, the university’s campuses in Knoxville, Memphis, and Tullahoma, and the statewide Institute for Public Service.

His own service to the university includes a term on the Exempt Staff Council—Knoxville area representing the UT Knoxville Chancellor’s group, and he was selected by his fellow representatives to serve as chair of the council. In addition, Charles emcees the Knoxville-area Human Resources Service Awards luncheons, which recognize UT employees with 25 or more years of service to the university and reads the names of graduates at UT Knoxville’s Fall Commencement ceremonies.

Charles has two degrees from UT Knoxville: a bachelor’s degree in journalism and electronic media in 1991 and a master’s degree in public relations in 2012. Before returning to Rocky Top in 1999, Charles worked in broadcast journalism as the news director of WSEV-AM/WDLY-FM radio in Sevierville, Tennessee. He lives in Knoxville with his wife and their two children.
