Digital Communications Designer
Nick brings his value for public education and love for learning and design to his position as a digital communications designer for the UT System. Nick spent his childhood in rural upstate New York before moving to Arizona where he attended Northern Arizona University and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication. He began working for the UT System in his current role in 2011. He’s been a lifelong lover of the color orange, even before coming to Knoxville and working for UT.
Nick’s favorite part of his job is collaborating with co-workers and clients on interesting projects. He loves researching new web technologies and coming up with ways to make UT communications more accessible and user-friendly. Nick is always learning ways to do his job better by his involvement in the Higher Education Web Professionals organization, and attending local tech MeetUps.
Nick is a public media fan and supporter, and supports several civil rights and public health organizations in East Tennessee. He loves basketball, fiddle tunes, bagels and coffee. In his free time, he enjoys travel, exploring the outdoors with his dog, and reading books on history and economics. Nick lives in Knoxville with his wife Eleanor, a professional artist, and their canine companion Zelda.
