Visual Communications Coordinator

An East Tennessee Native, Adam brings his love of photography and UT to his work as a communications coordinator (AKA chief visual specialist) for the UT System. Adam earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. Prior to joining the UT team two years ago, Adam was employed as a photojournalist/multimedia journalist at the Knoxville News Sentinel. While at UT, Adam has held positions as an instructor for UT professional and personal development and with the UT Foundation as a communications coordinator.

Throughout his professional career, Adam has been awarded numerous awards for his thoughtful work such as the ETSPJ Golden Press Card Award of Excellence in Feature Photography in 2012, Green Eyeshade First Place Award for Videography in 2013, and PRSA Volunteer Chapter V Award in 2015 for videography. Adam’s favorite part about his job is the environment. He says, “Where else can you find a place that bustles with activity, is filled with tradition, has thousands of people working hard toward dreams and goals and features beautiful surroundings to enjoy every day?”

Adam describes himself as a lover-of-all-Welsh-things, a mountain/trail enjoyer, almost-a-one-man-bluegrass-band, and a coffee/beer/chocolate aficionado. Naturally, in his free time, Adam enjoys hiking and kayaking, playing music, and perusing McKay Used Books and CDs with his wife on date nights. Adam lives in Knoxville with his wife, Kate, and fur daughter, Lily.
